Q:  How did you come up with the name "Healthy Responses in a Dysfunctional Society?"

A:  A healthy response would be one that works for you without harming yourself or someone else to an unreasonable extent (i.e. the fallout or consequence is acceptable, or at least expected). Dysfunctional is a polite way to say f**ked up. So, a healthy response in a dysfunctional society is one in which you decide how to respond in your given situation, taking into account that the other people you are dealing with are likely unreasonable, dishonest, unethical, immoral, or whatever their particular twist happens to be.

Q:  Do you accept insurance payments?

A:  No insurance payments are accepted for internet or telephone sessions because that is how the insurance companies still do things. I am able to work with many insurance companies for therapy done in the traditional face-to-face manner in my licensed office. Rates are a bit different in the office for actual therapy, than what appears on this site.

Q:  How do I pay for your services?

A:  My web site links directly with PayPal, which is now an eBay company, and is very secure. Any book you choose to purchase via my website come from Amazon. I do personal business with each of these on-line companies, and everything has always gone smoothly.

Q:  What happens if I have paid for a virtual session, and the electricity goes out, or there is a server crash?

A:  Due to the nature of the internet, Healthy Responses in a Dysfunctional Society is not liable for interruption of service, corruption of data, delay in transmission, or missing emails. Because of the limitations of the World-Wide-Web, it is advisable for paying clients to make their telephone number available to Healthy Responses in a Dysfunctional Society, for back up communication.

Q:  Will other people be able to read my private communications with Holly Pechter-Walters, CAC II?

A:  Any of the fee-for-service interactions will be totally private, and stored on a secure server. The technology is very similar to that utilized by brand-name on-line banks, auction sites, or book stores. Everything that needs to be confidential is encrypted. The server itself is kept in a secure location. Thus the data is as protected as any case notes would be in my own office – i.e. Files are kept in a locked filing cabinet in a locked room at my office.

Q:  So, do I understand correctly that everything I put onto your web site is protected, safe, and secure?

A:  No, no, and no. As either a client, or a more informal member, participating in web-based discussion of therapeutic issues from your place of employment is extremely risky. There is no way to be sure that others do not have the ability to access your private personal data, even if you delete it. Please, for your own well-being, locate a safe place to participate in Healthy Responses in a Dysfunctional Society. Anything on the world wide web can be read by everyone else, unless it is encrypted on a secure server. Please re-read the question above this one.

Q:  What is the Rage Release Room?

A:  Rage Release Room is a free interactive play area in which you may enjoy the pleasures of smashing breakable objects and making a mess without any obligation to be appropriate, or clean up afterwards. It seems to me that a virtual safe place like this would be useful to just about anybody at one time or another. Enjoy it, and invite your friends to check it out also.

Q:  Can I take your stuff and put it on my own web site?

A:  The Rage Release Room, graphics, and content (unless otherwise specified, in a by-line) are the property of Healthy Responses in a Dysfunctional Society. Please contact Healthy Responses in a Dysfunctional Society for written permission to utilize any content for other than personal, private use. The name "Healthy Responses in a Dysfunctional Society" is registered. The emoticons on the forum are collected from many sites that allow multiple web sites to utilize them.
